Wildland Weekends
Gratitude and Togetherness on The Wildland
Join us for a weekend of walking the path that Earth has patiently prepared for her Earthlings. Experience with honor and gratitude the deep kinship and intelligence of Earth: what Daniel calls kincentric rewilding.
Explore this sacred connection, this living yarn, brocaded in the dandelion's silk. Taste many wild herbs and fruits, honoring this connection with gratitude.
Sit with us for meals and discourse about what has been done and explore what is yet unfinished. Ask questions. Inhabit your curiosity. Become a community led by intelligence.
All Friends Receive

Frequently Asked Questions
If your questions are not answered below, just contact us! We are happy and excited to meet you!
What Should I Pack to WEAR?
Footwear: Although some of our time together will be spent indoors, the majority of our time together will be in the fields and forests. The Wildland is quite alive and most folks like to cover up and wear boots to stop snakes, ticks, spiders, mice, and other fun friends from undesirable places.
Bug spray: a must, in our experience—mosquitoes, chiggers, ticks, and spiders are all present. We use a cedarwood and lemongrass based essential oil spray that works wonders! If we spray, we’ll see only a couple ticks a day at the most. It is important to remain vigilant and check yourself for undesirable tag alongs during the day 😃 We have extra spray for everyone, but please bring your own if you like yours! Ours is pure essential oils with only silica added for abrasion.
Clothes: I wear long pants and long shirts when in the field. Morgan, my wife, wears shorts and tank tops. Decide what you are comfortable with and go with it. We may be in the sun a good amount, it is hard to tell with seasonal weather and so take sun covering into consideration when packing. Daniel will do his best to bring the group into the shade as much as possible, but sometime the sun is the only option.
Are meal included?
Yes! All a fully catered and served dinner and breakfasts are on the ticket! All meals are 100% organic, non-gmo, local, grown or produced on farm, and contain NO seed oils. Every meal is also hand prepared and made by the Wildland family, which means no pre-prepared or "stock" meals. They are grafted with gratitude in heart.
What should I know about The Wildland before I show up?
Working Farm: The Wildland is a working farm of cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, and horses. During our time, I may be dismissing myself momentarily for chores in the morning and the evenings. If you walk around the farm, which we encourage, treat all fences are electric, all cows as kind hearted but armed gladiators, and horses as a no no. All the horses are large 17+ hand draft/sport crosses and have foals at their side. They are very protective. My family and I live here full-time and so we ask that all attendees respect the operations and privateness of family life and not enter our immediate home-site or house without invitation. Our kids are nice (6, 5, 3 years old) but they bite strangers…
Working Farm #2: We ask that students abstain from helping with chores unless permission is previously asked and granted. If you see someone in the field dressing horses, please do not walk out there unless invited or permission was given prior—all animals at The Wildland are managed through relationship (very little fencing, zero handling facilities etc.) and sudden, spontaneous company does not bode well for all involved. All boys in all the herds are boys in the fullest sense and so if you see a "steer,” for instance, it is a bull. No animals are ever weaned and so if you see a youngin in any sense, its mom is close by and she likes the baby more than you. I think you get the point—treat all animals how they deserve to be treated: with respect.
Working Land: As I said, we will be outside a good bit and the land is very living. We will be around sticky, biting, slithering, crawling life. There are nesting black bear on the property and we daily see coyotes and bobcats, even mountain lion (although not daily). Come expecting to steep yourself in life and whatever that may mean to you.
Past Student Reviews
“The Wildland’s Kincentric Table was one of the most important and informative courses I’ve taken. I was saddened to learn how much food is wasted by our mainstream practices of animal harvesting; yet invigorated to engage in the practice myself for the proper treatment of the animal and the full use of its wonderful body.
Daniel is an incredible teacher who combines expert level guidance and instruction but remains down to earth and easy to learn from. I highly recommend taking any of Daniel’s courses! They have changed my relationship to food and farming.”
